The Pain Teacher
The ‘Pain Teacher’.
Heard of it?
It’s a concept that has expanded my lens of perception like nothing else.
The idea is that Pain is not arbitrary. It’s a guiding force that acts as a signal. This signal asks me to pay attention. It says “Sit and breathe into your discomfort. Meet with it.
Become curious to the possibility that your inner world is in distortion; that you’re out of balance and entangled in duality.”
When I am out of alignment or lying to myself - I put myself in a cage; hiding, denying, repressing. The pain teacher steps forward to create discomfort.
This discomfort is gift rather than an out right burden. It shows me where I am stuck in a limiting pattern, attitude, wound or closed belief. It moves me.
Pain is the messenger, reminding me to pay attention to all parts of myself.
